Before The Hearts of Warriors goes out into the world, a small group of readers gets it first — to catch what's not working, tell me honestly where it drags, and help make the book better before it's set in stone. If that sounds like you, fill out the form below.
This isn't a giveaway or an early-access perk — it's a real ask for your time and your honesty. You'll be sent chapters (or the full manuscript) with a deadline to read by, and I'm looking for people willing to tell me the truth, not just tell me it's great.
If you're approved, I'll follow up with you directly (by email or phone) to confirm you'd like your chapters sent as a private text link, and to get your mobile number at that time — we don't collect phone numbers through this form. Message frequency varies (generally one message per chapter you're granted). Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out. Exactly how I confirm consent before texting anyone: I never text a number until the person on it has said yes, out loud or in writing, to that specific number. When I follow up with an approved applicant by phone or email, this is what I say:
“Hi [Name] — this is Jake Denson with The Hearts of Warriors. Thanks for applying to be a beta reader. I'd like to send your chapters as a private link by text message — is it okay if I text that link to this number? You'll get about one message per chapter I send you, so frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop the texts, or HELP for help. I never share your number with anyone else, and our full Terms and Privacy Policy are posted at TheHeartsOfWarriors.com/terms and TheHeartsOfWarriors.com/privacy. Can I go ahead and text you the link?”
I only send the first text after the person says yes to that message. If they say no or don't respond, I don't text them.
